The highlight of today was a beautiful walk along Ocean Beach. The day started off warm with blue skies but by the time we decided to walk it was cold and overcast. Not that it mattered.
Col was scoping out potential fishing spots on the beach, and there are three distinct reefs quite close to shore that look promising. We did bump into a local couple who said the fish haven’t been biting much recently.
We did come across a surfing lesson sign at the Ocean Beach Surf Club and Col has decided he would like to give the Surfing Lessons a go tomorrow. It is going to be 32 so we are a little excited to have some warmth. I am keen to go for a swim in the inlet we walked past yesterday, it just looked amazing.
The locals have been keeping us entertained, there are a few very cute Joeys in the group.
What a lovely view out your window that is, nice little spot.
Right- open up the banana, slice it long ways add your filling, I lurve honey or golden syrup with a bit of brown sugar.. some prefer Nutella or even marshmallows :-
Then wrap in foil loosely twisting the ends .. m mm I reckon about 20 mins depending on age of bananas . ?
Awesome – thank you! Can’t wait to try this when we can next have a fire.
And this has been a really nice park to stay at. We have heaps of space around us which is awesome too. x
Do you leave the skin on the banana or peel it?
Leave the skin on ..
Then there’s the Lion Scone mix which is NOT in the Gluten free section ! Mix 1/2 up add golden syrup & a bit of raw sugar even some sultanas this makes a great damper so I am frequently told. Sprinkle sugar on top then when cooked slice up, butter & add a drizzle of that syrup !! Enjoy
very excited to get this recipe Karen. I have had the privilege of eating some around the campfire with you before and it is super delicious!! I will let you know how we go recreating it x
Let me know when the dampers ready and ill pop over !!! Can vouch for the damper . Its delicious (and definitely not GF!!!!)
Awesome! I feel a little nervous as I have big shoes to fill, daring to recreate Karen’s damper. But I am quietly excited and will let you know when it is ready. It may take me years of practice, but I am up for the challenge x
